Job Description:
Blizzard Entertainment's cinematics team is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Pipeline Technical Artist to support and develop our production pipeline. You will work closely with artists and other developers to design and improve workflows, build tools, and provide technical support. You should have a broad knowledge of tools and workflows currently used in the game industry, familiarity with CG/VFX, as well as direct experience with digital asset management and pipeline tool development. Excellent communication skills are a must.
This role is a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.
This is a full-time staff position.
What You Bring to the Table
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for artists in production
- Maintain our existing code base and develop new libraries and tools as necessary
- Contribute to the design and development of our production workflows
- Mentor the team around you to ensure art is technically compliant and performant
- Directly contribute to establishing and improving artist workflows
Minimum Requirements
Experience
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in developing pipeline tools and workflows in a CG production environment
- Experience with real-time asset implementation and optimization
- Experience with PyQt / PySide development
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent knowledge of Unreal, having shipped Unreal-authored content
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong knowledge of Python and object-oriented programming practices
- Strong working knowledge of Maya
- Strong understanding of the CG production process, from asset creation to final implementation

- Strong desire to function in a technical support role

- Experience with Pixar's USD file format

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $29.81 - $55.14 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
