Coordinating Producer, Global Broadcast

Blizzard Global Broadcast is seeking a coordinating producer to oversee the development and production of the live broadcast for Call of Duty League 2020. You will be tasked with producing and supervising a wide range of daily/weekly elements and special events across Activision Blizzard Esports and our partner outlets.

As a member of the Blizzard team, you will work alongside passionate, knowledgeable and experienced teammates to help continue building on our history of success in esports. Responsibilities:

  • Drives creative development and editorial content of daily coverage for live and taped content around Call of Duty League shows and productions
  • Production leader of cross-platform collaboration regarding development and communication of content planning around Call of Duty League
  • Guides and reviews daily decisions of the production team including creative, editorial and budget
  • Uses strong esports knowledge and editorial judgment to determine concepts and content around Call of Duty League
  • Ensures the highest creative standards for ABEL and Call of Duty League
  • Leads production teams to quickly identify important story lines and work closely with all production staff around Call of Duty League
  • Provides guidance to key production personnel including producers, directors, associate producers and support teams
  • High level oversight of schedules and assignments for production staff and on-air talent
  • Collaborates with other Blizzard Broadcast and ABE groups who support the production of Call of Duty League and Overwatch League including broadcast and programming groups
  • Global ownership for localization including multi-language, multi-stream VO/subtitling and gfx
  • Develops internal systems and procedures that enhance production efficiency
  • Works with human resources on decisions relating to hiring, separations, promotion and related compensation decisions for assigned personnel
  • Accountable for the content quality, budget performance and market share of Call of Duty League live and taped content
  • Work with programming and esports teams to create new broadcast concepts
  • Coordinate the design and implementation of innovative graphics for shows
  • Coordinates the schedules and facilities for the editing of Call of Duty League features and programs
  • Tracks and reports on production schedules and budgets for all programs
  • Oversee the planning and execution of all greenlit content
  • Plans, direct and manage the creation and writing of compelling content around Call of Duty League

Qualifications:  

  • 10+ years video or broadcast production experience
  • Established expertise to create and produce compelling sports programming, including esports
  • Strong ability to generate and execute esports news concepts, from inception to execution
  • Mastery of the live esports production processes and the ability to produce high level esports programs
  • High level of knowledge of real-time esports production processes
  • Established knowledge regarding technological advances relative to production
  • Strong level of knowledge of what story ideas and concepts to use around esports
  • Strong level of production skills related to live and taped show formats
  • Good understanding of market positioning and strategies
  • Demonstrated management experience
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in media or entertainment related field
  • Extensive track record of success managing internal clients and external partners
  • Demonstrated ability to remain flexible to changes in project development and evolving business objectives
  • Effectively and efficiently manage varied tasks with competing timelines and resources
  • Experience with budgeting and strategic planning processes
  • Assertive, effective communicator across all levels
