We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to help guide and grow our Shared Technology team.  This team creates and maintains C++ SDKs that support every existing and upcoming Blizzard game.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering team responsible for maintaining and iterating on our distribution and game-embedded browser SDKs
  • Grow the team’s capacity and product slate to include more shared technology
  • Foster a customer-oriented culture throughout the team
  • Serve as a mentor to engineers creating high-quality C++ code and APIs

Requirements

  • Customer-oriented mindset and a passion for shared technology
  • Ability to build APIs that will spark joy
  • Ability to write efficient, high-quality C++ code appropriate for AAA games
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with engineers across a wide number of teams
  • Ability to create, plan and deliver long term roadmaps balancing short-term needs vs long-term investments
  • Understand the trade-offs and motivations for shared technology in a large C++ codebase
  • Leadership experience (either formal management or project-based leadership)

Pluses

  • Multiplatform development experience (Linux, Mac, Windows, Console, Mobile)
  • Game development or engine team experience
  • Distribution and download technology experience
  • Passion for gaming and Blizzard games
