Lead Software Engineer, .NET
IT - Corporate Applications Irvine

Does Blizzard sound like an awesome place to work? Do you want to make it even more awesome?

Blizzard Entertainment is seeking an enthusiastic Technical Lead to join our Corporate Applications group in Irvine, CA. You'll help build tools used every day at Blizzard for Game Production, Development, IT, Human Resources, Finance, QA, Internal Communications, and more!

Our Technical Leads are highly collaborative to create epic and efficient applications used by Blizzard employees worldwide. They work closely together to share knowledge and push the department forward by learning from each other’s success and failures via group discussions, lightning talks, paired programming, mentoring, and embracing any technique that keeps us sustainably delivering quality software.

In addition to being talented engineers, our Technical Leads are expected to spend a meaningful chunk of their time rallying the team around technology and process, mentoring engineers, driving architecture discussions and decisions, and working closely with external teams to make sure we're building the right tools in the most epic way possible.

Technical Leads are veteran developers and often have a wide range of experience, including managing other engineers. They can be trusted to architect and own large systems with little oversight, and are able to deliver high quality features with maintainable and understandable code. In addition, a Technical Lead is capable of leading development on an entire project including overseeing other engineers on the project. A Technical Lead is responsible for direct reports and will focus on growing their team.

Our ideal candidate has experience leading engineers, has found success (and failure!) with multiple projects, and measures their success through their team. They have a strong background in .NET, or JavaScript development, stack testing, & an aptitude for critical thinking and analysis. They eat complexity for breakfast and confront ambiguity. They have a sense of ownership and responsibility for everything we produce.
