We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to help build out gameplay systems for the shared game engine.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the engineering team responsible for developing a broad array of gameplay systems
  • Understand content creator needs through direct collaboration
  • Serve as a mentor to engineers creating clean, maintainable, and performant C++ code
  • Build positive relationships with gameplay teams across Blizzard

Required skillsets

  • Ability to lead, manage, and grow successful engineering teams
  • Experience in the design and implementation of game systems used across various genres, including game object management, navigation/pathfinding, animation, gameplay scripting or online networking
  • Fundamental understanding of multi-threaded environments and performance needs

Pluses

  • Experience with first- or third-person combat systems
  • Familiarity with visual scripting languages such as Blueprint or Kismet
  • Experience working with or contributing to in-house engine development
